On a central part 25 of the beam the profile is constant and from this central part the height of the outer side walls 14,15 decreases at least in one direction over a length of at least 1/4 of the length of the beam or as shown in both directions. The example shows that the height of the side walls decreases symmetrically in both directions in continuous curves, but symmetry is not necessary. The height of the outer side walls 14,15 decreases towards the fastening ends 12,13 so that the ratio in height between the outer and inner side walls decreases towards each fastening end over a length of at least 'A of the length of the beam. The height of the inner side walls 18,19 may be constant as shown. A central part with a constant profile is not necessary. The mounting ends 12,13 may have different appearances. In the example, the fastening end 12 is shown completely flat while the fastening end 13 has a profile. It can, for example, have a low single-hat profile or a low double-hat profile.

Claims (3)

Door beam for vehicles with mounting ends 12,13) against the vehicle and double hat profile between the mounting ends, comprising two outer side walls (14,15) with side flanges (16,17), two inner side walls (18,19), two tops (20,21 ) those mellan between the outer and inner side walls and directed outwards from the vehicle, and a top (22) defined between the inner side walls and directed inwards towards the vehicle, characterized in that the height of the outer side walls (14,15) decreases from a central part (25) of the beam towards the fastening ends (12,13) so that the ratio in height between the outer and inner side walls decreases towards the fastening ends.

Door beam according to claim 1, characterized in that the height of the outer side wall (14, 15) decreases towards at least one fastening spirit (12, 13) over a length of at least 1 A of the length of the beam.

Door beam according to claim 1, characterized in that the height of the outer side walls (14, 15) decreases from the central part (25) towards the fastening ends (12, 13) on each side of the central part over a length of at least 1/4 of the length of the beam. .
